About the role
Our client is a growing BPO / ITES services company in Kochi. They are hiring an experienced, hands-on HR Manager to take ownership of the complete HR function.
You will run HR operations, statutory compliance, and employee relations. You will work closely with Management. Your goal is a professionally managed, legally compliant, and well-documented HR function.
Key responsibilities
- Own and oversee the complete HR function of the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements. This includes EPF, ESI, Gratuity, Bonus, Minimum Wages, and POSH.
- Maintain accurate and legally defensible HR documentation and employee records.
- Manage employee relations, grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace issues.
- Draft, review, and implement HR policies, employment documentation, and the employee handbook.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to separation.
- Develop and run performance appraisal and performance improvement processes.
- Lead HRIS/HRMS operations, employee data management, and HR reporting.
- Supervise the Senior HR Executive and coordinate with the Talent Acquisition Specialist.
- Coordinate with external HR and labour law consultants and legal advisors when required.
- Advise Management on employee and compliance matters, and prepare HR reports and analytics.
Qualifications (mandatory)
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Personnel Management, or a related field.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
Experience and skills
- Minimum 10 years of relevant HR experience.
- Proven experience independently managing major HR functions.
- Strong experience in HR operations, labour law, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in employee relations, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment documentation, and performance management.
- Proficiency with leading HRIS/HRMS platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Maturity and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
Preferred
- Background in BPO, ITES, IT, Shared Services, KPO, Call Centre, or other service-sector organisations. Managerial BPO/ITES experience is an added advantage.
- HR certifications are a plus but not mandatory. These include SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, HRCI PHR/SPHR, NIPM, Labour Law / Industrial Relations / POSH certification, and HR Analytics certification.
- Immediate joiners or candidates on a short notice period preferred.
